The world of Wand presents a setting that closely mirrors many traditional fantasy landscapes, featuring human settlements and pervasive magic. The inhabitants generally enjoy a tranquil existence within small villages, towns, and cities, with the majority leading routine lives. However, the narrative shifts dramatically with the emergence of a formidable evil shortly after the founding of the kingdom. This malevolent force threatens to engulf the realm, necessitating the efforts of local mages to unite their powers and confront this menace.

The antagonist, known as the Evil Lord, has been amassing his forces for over a year, gradually extending his control across increasingly large territories. His armies—vast in number, potentially reaching into the tens or hundreds of thousands—have consolidated within numerous dungeons, poised to strike at the heart of the kingdom. In response, the king has issued a summons for all mages to assemble in one central location to coordinate a defense against this emerging threat. While many mages have already converged upon the city of Wand, others remain unaccounted for. Currently, only two mages are present on the battlefield.

Players are appointed by royal decree to lead these mages in defending the realm. Strategic control of every dungeon within the kingdom becomes paramount, requiring locating and rallying mages both within and beyond the kingdom's borders. Facilitating their protection of local settlements—be they towns or castles—and guiding them through increasingly challenging dungeons is vital. Each dungeon features multiple floors that must be conquered sequentially; defeating dungeon bosses grants access to new weapons, armor, and spells, enhancing the party’s capabilities.

Key objectives include:

• Leading the mage forces in safeguarding their territories
• Holding positions against enemy onslaughts until reinforcements arrive
• Locating and recruiting all available mages
• Enhancing abilities and skills to withstand successive waves of monsters
